Produced with association of the Ukrainian Society Edunburgh
and the Burns Howff Club Dumfries, and a number of its members.

Launched on the 24th January 2009 in the Ukrainian Consulate in Edinburgh.

Members of the Howff Club were delighted to attend the official Scottish launch of this unique publication which has the original works of Robert Burns on the left hand page and the translation in Ukrainian on the right hand page.
The Consulate General from Ukraine welcomed representation from the Scottish Government, Consulate generals from Sweden and Italy as well as notable experts from the Robert Burns fraternity including the President, David Baird, and Senior Vice President, Jim Shields. Also present at the launch was club member John Clark who has contributed to the book providing pencil sketches and was the artist who had painted the cover picture featuring the battle of Stirling Bridge and Eric Green owner of the original painting.
It was particularly pleasing that Hanna Dyka, who lives in Kiev and had never been out of Ukraine was able to travel to Scotland to attend the Launch.

Members of the Howff were hoping to entertain Hanna with several Burns Suppers and “wee Scots Nichts” and visits to various locations where Burns had lived and worked.
